What technology does Sprout use?

Sprout uses the LAMP software stack, which has provided millions of websites reliability, security, and scalability to websites for almost three decades. Stability is at the core of the LAMP stack. Linux serves as the reliable foundation, while Apache ensures secure and efficient web hosting. Couple that with MySQL's robust data management capabilities, and you have a dependable ecosystem ready to handle any workload. MySQL is used by some of the largest companies in the world - such as Amazon, Netflix, Boeing and Facebook. Our front end is developed using PHP, which is used by 77% of websites today. All of Sprout’s systems are within one version of the most current available release, and it is designed in a way so Sprout never gets out dated. Sprout users will never find themselves on decades old technology that can’t integrate with other systems.

Can I use my existing hardware?

Because Sprout is web-based, typical customers will not need to buy desktops, servers, mobile devices, or networking equipment to use Sprout.  We support most current desktop and mobile  operating systems - Windows 10/11, MacOS, ChromeOS.  Sprout uses the Zebra standard printer language, ZPL, for labeling needs.  Any networkable Zebra printer should work, other than some desktop models.
